A²Z is a simple and efficient web-based address book powered by PHP & MySQL. It all started a few months ago when I was looking for a simple web-based solution to store my contacts. All I could find was big programs including a contact manager. I have nothing bad to say about these programs themselves, but I had no intention of installing a multi-user system from which I would have had exploited not more than 10% of the functions. I had been waiting for over a year for someone to publish a program that would suit my needs (waiting for someone else to do the hard work ;-), but it didn't came.

So, I sat down (Yes! I do that once in a while), sketched the principles and after two nights work I had a running system. As of November 1st 2000, I released my first GPL software.

Features:

Runs on PHP & MySQL

Uses Apache (or any other webserver) security: security is versatile and portable

Use as many labels for e-mail, phone number or street address

Access information about someone in a single screen

Anyone who can use a web browser can use it
